Accounting Manager

About the role

Porch Group is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead core accounting operations in a fast‑growing, remote environment. Reporting to the Controller, you will ensure accurate financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, and support both operational and external reporting needs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close activities for assigned areas.
• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, balance‑sheet support, and flux analyses.
• Own and enhance accounting processes and internal controls, identifying automation and standardisation opportunities.
• Partner with cross‑functional stakeholders to resolve accounting issues and ensure proper U.S. GAAP treatment.
• Prepare and review management reporting, including variance analysis and trend explanations.
• Support external and internal audits, coordinating deliverables and maintaining audit‑ready documentation.
• Assist in managing SOX compliance for assigned processes.
