Airport Services Duty Officer

About the role

We are looking for an Airport Services Duty Officer to join our new station in Bogota, Colombia. In this position you will supervise flight‑handling activities such as flight editing, check‑in, transfers and boarding, ensuring high service standards, customer satisfaction and on‑time departures.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and control all flight‑handling activities on the shift, acting as the direct representative of the Airport Services Manager.
• Ensure passenger and aircraft handling practices meet safety and security standards and Qatar Airways’ operational standards.
• Manage manpower allocation and utilization to maintain staff morale, discipline and optimal resource use.
• Conduct checks to verify that operational standards are maintained throughout the shift.
• Resolve customer problems and complaints in collaboration with Customer Relations and other departments.
• Coordinate ramp handling with GHA, caterers, fueling, maintenance, cargo and crew to expedite departures.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in airline or reputable ground handling operations at a supervisory level.
• Strong background in airport or ground handling agent (GHA) operations.
• Good understanding of Conditions of Carriage, international civil aviation safety and security procedures (ICAO, IATA).
• Knowledge of passenger and baggage handling, weight and balance, and dangerous goods regulations.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken); Spanish is highly desirable.
• Legal right to live and work in Colombia.
