Cybersecurity Analyst – Remote (LATAM) – Freelance

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Cybersecurity Analyst to join our remote team serving clients across the LATAM region. The role focuses on monitoring, investigating and improving security events using Microsoft Sentinel and related Defender technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate and respond to security incidents through Microsoft Sentinel.
• Analyze and correlate alerts from Microsoft Defender XDR and other security tools.
• Conduct proactive threat hunting and develop detection rules.
• Design and enhance analytics, monitoring use cases, and automation workflows (Logic Apps/SOAR).
• Collaborate with infrastructure, systems and cloud teams to ensure secure configurations.
• Contribute to SOC process improvements and documentation.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a SOC environment (L2 or advanced L1).
• Strong analytical and investigative abilities with technical autonomy.
• Advanced English proficiency (C1).
• Relevant certification such as SC‑200, AZ‑500, SC‑300, Security+, GCIH, MS‑102 or AZ‑104.

Required skills

• Microsoft Sentinel and KQL.
• Microsoft Defender XDR suite (Endpoint, Identity, Cloud, etc.).
• Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 administration and security.
• Logic Apps / SOAR automation.
• Windows operating systems, networking fundamentals, identity and access management.
