Data Engineer (Azure) – Remote, Latin America

About the role

Bluelight is seeking an Azure‑focused Data Engineer to join a fast‑growing client team. The role is fully remote for candidates in Latin America and involves designing, building, and maintaining robust ETL pipelines that feed analytical data to data scientists and business analysts.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain ETL processes using Python (PySpark) within Azure Synapse Analytics notebooks and pipelines.
• Design and implement data warehousing solutions, including star schemas, facts, and dimensions, on a Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) SQL pool.
• Extract data from REST APIs, SQL tables, and CSV files.
• Apply Azure Synapse expertise to optimise pipeline performance and scalability.
• Contribute to data‑fabric concepts such as data lakes, lakehouses, delta lakes, and data cataloguing.
• Collaborate with data architects on data modelling and schema design.
• Implement data quality checks and validation routines.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to meet service level agreements.
• Monitor ETL jobs, troubleshoot issues, and ensure pipeline reliability.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of data flows and processes.

Required profile
