Freelance Material Scientist (Python) – AI Trainer

About the role

We are looking for a freelance Material Scientist with strong Python skills to design and evaluate AI training problems for engineering workflows. This project‑based role involves creating realistic material engineering challenges and validating them with code.

Key responsibilities

• Design original material engineering problems that simulate real‑world workflows.
• Create Python‑based tasks requiring numerical methods, iterative solutions, and optimization.
• Develop problem statements based on actual research challenges or practical applications.
• Verify solutions using Python and standard engineering libraries.
• Document problem descriptions clearly and provide verified correct answers.

Required profile

• Degree in Material Science or a related field.
• At least 2 years of professional, research, or teaching experience in material engineering.
• Strong written English proficiency (C1+).
• Understanding of practical engineering constraints and approximations.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Numerical libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, SciPy.
• Familiarity with MATLAB, R, C, or SQL (any is acceptable).

What we offer
