Geomechanics Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Geomechanics Engineer to lead the design, calibration, and supervision of geomechanical models that support drilling operations for onshore and offshore oil & gas projects. The role combines technical expertise with real‑time intervention capabilities to ensure safety and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Design, calibrate, and supervise 1D and 3D geomechanical models for drilling planning.
• Provide real‑time technical interventions during critical drilling events, both remotely and onsite.
• Deliver proactive technical support to international, multidisciplinary teams, adapting to diverse project environments.
• Manage incidents, make high‑impact decisions under pressure, and mitigate risks to optimize performance.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in geomechanics, including offshore and onshore real‑time monitoring.
• Strong leadership and team‑management abilities.
• Fluent communication in Spanish and English, with experience working in multicultural settings.
• Active participation in technical societies and industry conferences.
• Willingness to travel internationally and work extended shifts as required.
