Infection Control Nurse

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Infection Control Nurse to lead and manage our infection prevention program within a nursing care facility. The role involves ensuring compliance with CDC, OSHA and local regulations, and safeguarding the health of residents and staff through rigorous infection control practices.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, develop, implement, evaluate and coordinate the facility’s infection control program in line with current regulations.
• Maintain and update infection control policies, precautions and aseptic techniques.
• Conduct regular rounds on nursing units to assess isolation precautions, environmental sanitation and compliance with standard operating procedures.
• Review laboratory reports, collaborate with nursing leadership to develop care plans, and ensure appropriate microbiological and serological services are available.
• Oversee decontamination, sterilization, and shelf‑life monitoring of sterile packs and medical supplies.
• Provide written and oral reports to administration on infection trends, corrective actions and special investigations.
• Educate and assist all departments in identifying tasks with exposure risk and ensure proper disposal of contaminated materials.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in infection control within a long‑term care or hospital setting.
• Strong knowledge of CDC, OSHA and local infection control regulations.
• Ability to interpret policies, conduct investigations and communicate findings to senior management.
• Detail‑oriented with excellent organizational and documentation skills.
