Lead Design & Estimation Engineer – Fire Fighting Systems

About the role

NAFFCO is seeking a senior professional to lead design and estimation activities for fire‑fighting systems across Colombia. The role combines technical engineering leadership with commercial estimation oversight to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and fully compliant with local and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage fire protection engineering for multiple high‑rise, industrial, infrastructure and warehouse projects.
• Review and approve hydraulic calculations, fire pump designs and alternative engineering solutions.
• Ensure compliance with international and Colombian fire‑protection standards.
• Lead the estimation team: develop BOQs/MTOs, validate pricing, and shape bid strategies.
• Conduct commercial risk reviews, value‑engineering studies and supplier negotiations.
• Establish QA/QC workflows, monitor KPIs for design accuracy and tender success.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, contractors and Civil Defence authorities for approvals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Fire‑Protection Engineering.
• 10‑15+ years of fire‑protection engineering and estimation experience.
• Minimum 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Proven track record managing multi‑project engineering operations.

Required skills

• Hydraulic calculations and fire‑pump design.
• BIM/Revit coordination.
• Procore estimation tools.
• NFPA certifications (e.g., 13, 20, 25, 92) and CFPS designation.
• Cost control and value‑engineering techniques.
