Mobile Robotics Engineer

About the role

As a Mobile Robotics Engineer you will design and develop advanced robotics solutions across ground, aerial and underwater domains. Working within SoftServe's Robotics Group you will accelerate development, optimise performance and reduce costs from AI‑driven simulation to full‑scale production, delivering end‑to‑end robotic systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop robotics solutions for mobile robots, drones and autonomous systems.
• Build rapid prototypes and evolve them into production‑ready solutions.
• Develop and maintain perception, planning and control components.
• Test solutions in simulation environments (Gazebo, NVIDIA Isaac Sim, Bullet, CARLA) and real‑world settings.
• Integrate robotic systems with cloud services for scalability.
• Ensure performance, reliability and maintainability through CI/CD and testing practices.
• Contribute to system architecture, including hardware/software integration.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in C/C++ and Python.
• MSc in Computer Science, Robotics, Mechatronics, Applied Mathematics or a related field.
• Hands‑on experience with ROS/ROS2, RViz and simulation tools such as Gazebo, Isaac Sim, Bullet or CARLA.
• Practical experience with mobile robots, drones, AMRs, AGVs or autonomous vehicles.
• Deep knowledge of perception, trajectory planning, kinematics and obstacle avoidance.
• Solid understanding of sensors, actuators and control systems, plus system design and performance evaluation.
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with functional safety standards and reliability practices.
• Experience with odometry solutions like LIO‑SAM; CUDA or hardware acceleration is a plus.
