Restaurant Accountant with QuickBooks Online Expertise

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented, proactive accountant to join our collaborative finance team. You will work closely with bookkeepers, controllers, and FP&A professionals to deliver high‑quality reporting, reconciliations, and accounting support for our restaurant clients.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain all financial records, categorize expenses, and manage the general ledger daily in QuickBooks Online.
• Match daily POS sales reports with cash deposits, credit‑card payouts, and third‑party delivery app transactions.
• Review, enter, and track vendor invoices for food, beverage, and other supplies, ensuring timely payments.
• Monitor key restaurant metrics, especially food & beverage COGS and labor costs.
• Reconcile bank and credit‑card statements each month and generate basic P&L reports for owners/managers.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience in the restaurant/hospitality industry.
• Strong, practical experience using QuickBooks Online.
• Familiarity with connecting QBO to restaurant POS systems (e.g., Toast, Clover, Square) is a plus.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment with a growth mindset.
• Availability 9 AM–5 PM EST, Monday to Friday, and willingness to work as an independent contractor.
