Senior Backend Engineer – Python, AWS, Microservices

About the role

Coforge is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with deep Python expertise to design and build scalable, cloud‑native services. The role is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere in Colombia while collaborating with a global engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain distributed backend systems using Python, microservices, REST APIs, and event‑driven architectures.
• Build and optimise AWS‑based solutions leveraging Lambda, SQS, S3, CloudFormation, and CDK.
• Integrate specialised data stores such as Elasticsearch, DynamoDB, and AWS Neptune.
• Implement robust authentication, fault tolerance, and observability using ELK/Elastic Stack.
• Drive best practices across the SDLC, including testing, CI/CD pipelines, deployment, and production monitoring.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of backend engineering experience building scalable distributed systems.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with Python, clean coding, and exception handling.
• Proven experience designing microservices, REST APIs, and event‑driven architectures.
