SHEQ Officer

About the role

As a SHEQ Officer you will ensure that Vopak’s terminal operations in Colombia meet the highest standards of Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality. You will manage the Integrated Management System (IMS), act as the Port Facility Security Officer, and lead the Strategic Road Safety Plan.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, update and operate the Integrated Management System (IMS) and SG‑SST to ensure legal and corporate compliance.
• Identify, evaluate and communicate operational risks through inspections and safety assessments.
• Supervise routine and non‑routine terminal activities to guarantee safe conditions.
• Participate in work‑permit reviews, risk‑assessment methodologies (HAZOP/QRA) and safety KPI monitoring.
• Coordinate incident/accident investigations, define corrective actions and report to the ARL.
• Lead training on security, emergency response and road‑safety initiatives.
• Serve as Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO/OPIP) and ensure compliance with ISPS Code and related regulations.

Required profile

• Professional degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field, with a postgraduate qualification in Integrated Management Systems.
• Minimum seven years of experience in the chemical industry and port operations.
• Advanced knowledge of health, safety, environment, quality and internal auditing.
• Specialized training in physical security, CCTV and ISPS Code; accredited or eligible as PFSO.
• Fluent English (speaking, reading, writing).
• Eligible to work in Colombia without visa sponsorship.
