Supply Officer – Life Support Services

About the role

The United Nations Verification Mission in Colombia is seeking a Supply Officer to lead the Life Support Unit. Based in Bogota, you will manage critical support services such as catering, rations, fuel, water, and general supplies across all mission sites, overseeing an average budget of USD 2.2 million.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review and manage contracts for life‑support services, ensuring compliance with UN regulations.
• Prepare cost estimates, budget implications and long‑term forecasts aligned with mission planning cycles.
• Monitor vendor performance, KPIs and address any shortfalls proactively.
• Conduct market research, initiate procurement processes and ensure environmental sustainability guidelines are followed.
• Lead technical assessments and field visits during site planning, expansion or closure.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and internal controls using SAP ERP and Microsoft tools.
• Analyse audit findings and performance reports, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Prepare and validate SAP and Power BI reports, ensuring data accuracy.
• Coordinate goods in transit with MOVCON and oversee contract submissions to LCC and HCC.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement, contract management and logistics within an international or UN environment.
• Strong analytical abilities to interpret audit findings and performance data.
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder coordination and team supervision.
• Ability to work independently and lead a multidisciplinary unit.
