Account Executive – Customs Operations

About the role

We are seeking an Account Executive – Customs Operations to lead end‑to‑end import processes for our clients in Barranquilla. The role serves as the primary liaison between customers and their import operations, ensuring compliance, speed, and a high‑quality experience.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, review, and manage import documentation to guarantee legal and operational compliance.
• Prepare import declarations, Andean Value Declarations (DAV), and import records.
• Coordinate INVIMA and ICA inspections, port transport assignments, and container scheduling for DIAN customs audits.
• Handle advance payments, freight releases, tax payments, and client fund requests.
• Assemble dispatch packages including gauging, pre‑inspection, bank declarations, Free Trade Zone forms, and exits.
• Communicate operation status to clients via email and on‑site visits.
• Complete the IB system to ensure full traceability from order opening to invoicing.
• Identify operational risks and propose concrete mitigation measures.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of all information.

Required profile

• Degree or technical qualification in Foreign Trade, International Business or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years experience in a customs agency or operational customs role.
• Solid knowledge of Colombian customs regulations (Decree 1165/2019 and DIAN resolutions).
• Ability to work under pressure while managing multiple simultaneous operations.
