Data Engineer

About the role

ScotiaTech, Scotiabank’s new technology hub in Bogotá, is looking for a Data Engineer to design, build and maintain data pipelines and databases that support business intelligence and advanced analytics across the bank.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement scalable data pipelines using SQL, BigQuery, PySpark and Pandas.
• Develop and manage data models and warehouses, including Parquet files and object storage solutions.
• Orchestrate workflows with Airflow and ensure reliable scheduling and monitoring.
• Collaborate with agile analytics and business teams to improve data accessibility and support data‑driven decision making.
• Apply data quality, governance and cloud best practices on GCP.
• Write, test and optimise code, following dimensional modelling and DevOps processes.

Required profile

• 3‑6+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or Technical Business Analyst.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of banking risk and compliance considerations.
