Android Software Engineer

About the role

EPAM is seeking a motivated Android Software Engineer to join its mobile engineering team. You will build, optimise and maintain native Android applications using a modern Kotlin‑based tech stack, collaborating closely with product managers, UX/UI designers and backend engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high‑performance native Android apps with Kotlin.
• Implement responsive UI/UX following Material Design guidelines.
• Integrate apps with backend micro‑services via RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
• Write clean, maintainable and testable code and participate in code reviews.
• Develop unit and UI tests (JUnit, Espresso) to ensure stability.
• Analyse performance metrics to improve speed, battery usage and memory consumption.
• Support release preparation and publishing updates to Google Play Store.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in native Android development.
• Strong proficiency in English (B2 level or higher).
• Ability to work effectively in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Experience using collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
