Android Software Engineer

About the role

EPAM is looking for a talented Android Software Engineer to join its mobile engineering team. You will build, optimize, and maintain native Android applications using a modern Kotlin‑based stack, collaborating closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance native Android apps with Kotlin.
• Implement responsive UI that follows Material Design guidelines.
• Integrate with backend micro‑services and RESTful/GraphQL APIs.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code and participate in code reviews.
• Develop unit and UI tests (JUnit, Espresso) to ensure stability.
• Profile and optimise app performance for speed, battery, and memory.
• Assist in preparing and publishing updates to Google Play Store.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in native Android development.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and deep knowledge of the Android SDK.
• Understanding of modern architecture components and patterns (MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture).
• Experience with Dependency Injection (Hilt/Dagger) and Coroutines/Flow.
• Familiarity with Android Studio, Gradle, and Git.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose or XML‑based layouts.
• Experience with JUnit and Espresso testing frameworks.
• Ability to work in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
