Head of Programmes

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a senior leader to direct all programme activities in its Bogota Country Office. Reporting to the Chief of Mission, the Head of Programmes will shape strategic priorities, ensure alignment with donor and national requirements, and drive effective implementation across the portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation and monitoring of all country‑level programmes, ensuring they meet organisational and donor objectives.
• Identify and address obstacles to programme delivery, adapting plans to evolving host‑country and donor priorities.
• Develop a comprehensive programme overview, highlighting milestones and major activities to support mission planning.
• Coordinate with internal and external partners to ensure coherent and results‑oriented programme execution.
• Provide regular analytical reports and recommendations to the Chief of Mission and senior management.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in programme management within international or humanitarian settings.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
• Strong understanding of migration issues, donor frameworks and national development strategies.
• Excellent analytical, planning and decision‑making skills.
