Linux Server Administrator

About the role

Softtek Colombia is looking for a proficient Linux Server Administrator to join its Bogotá team. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability, and performance of critical Linux infrastructure supporting business operations.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Linux operating systems (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).
• Monitor server health, performance metrics, and resource utilization.
• Plan and manage capacity to meet growth and operational demands.
• Apply security hardening, access controls, and perform regular remediation.
• Execute preventive maintenance and manage hardware lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot hardware, OS, and application performance issues.
• Support backup, recovery, and disaster‑recovery processes.
• Collaborate with network, database, application, and security teams.
• Document configurations, procedures, and technical solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience administering Linux server environments.
• Upper‑intermediate proficiency in English.
