Materials Planning Manager

About the role

The Materials Planning Manager oversees the supply of materials to meet production schedules and maintain minimum stock levels, ensuring operational and production reliability. This role is critical to supporting Zimmer Biomet’s mission of delivering innovative medical technology worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze demand trends and generate direct material requirements based on the material requirements plan (MRP).
• Schedule supply of direct materials and components to meet production needs and safety stock targets.
• Communicate raw‑material shortages, update supply plans, and execute follow‑up actions.
• Coordinate with suppliers on future volumes, capacity, and availability, and reconcile non‑conformances.
• Escalate capacity and performance issues to sourcing and commodity management teams.
• Develop and implement processes for material delivery from supplier to point of use, supporting continuous improvement.
• Monitor inventory levels, support inventory accuracy checks, and minimize obsolete stock.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combinations of education and experience.
• Strong background in supply chain planning, logistics, or operations, preferably in the medical device industry.
• Experience with ERP systems and material planning tools.
• High proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
