Ocean Export & Import Coordinator

About the role

As an Ocean Export and Import Coordinator at Rhenus, you will manage the end‑to‑end flow of ocean freight shipments, ensuring they meet customer requirements, regulatory standards, and company objectives. You will act as the central point of contact for customers, agents, vendors, and internal teams, providing timely updates and resolving issues throughout the shipment lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate ocean export and import shipments from booking to delivery, including tracking and route optimization.
• Prepare and process all required shipping documents such as Bill of Lading, Air Waybill, invoices, and EEI.
• Maintain accurate shipment records, costing, quoting, and billing information.
• Monitor shipments, provide status updates to stakeholders, and address operational or system‑related issues.
• Ensure compliance with FMC, NVOCC regulations, and INCOTERMS 2020.
• Collaborate with customers, forwarding agents, vendors, and internal departments to resolve discrepancies.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years experience in logistics or transportation, specifically handling international ocean shipments.
• Associate degree, vocational training, or at least two years of college coursework in a related field.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal; additional language skills are a plus.
• Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and adapt to new systems quickly.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency with the MS Office suite.
• Familiarity with the ACE system (preferred).
