Logistics Officer

About the role

FHI 360 is seeking a Logistics Officer to be based in Bogotá, Colombia, supporting the Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) project. The role will oversee all logistics activities, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and donor regulations in a resource‑scarce and insecure environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement standard protocols for procurement, warehouse management and commodity dispatch, with a focus on pharmaceutical and medical equipment supply chains.
• Conduct operational country assessments covering supply chain, purchasing, facilities and fleet management.
• Manage facilities in emergencies, including offices, residences, warehousing and critical infrastructure.
• Determine transportation needs, secure assets, and oversee fleet allocation, fuel, maintenance and driver pool.
• Maintain asset and inventory registries at headquarters and field sites, ensuring proper allocation, maintenance and disposal in line with donor regulations.
• Ensure all logistics and procurement activities comply with USG export rules and Colombian import and customs regulations.
• Collaborate with headquarters support departments to identify and resolve process bottlenecks and develop efficient operational solutions.
• Support preparedness planning, develop instructional material, facilitate training and mentor staff across country programs.

Required profile

• Experience in logistics, supply chain or procurement within international development or humanitarian contexts.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical and medical equipment supply chain processes, including importation and customs compliance.
• Ability to operate in insecure, resource‑limited environments and manage emergency facilities.
• Strong analytical skills to develop protocols, assess operations and improve processes.
• Excellent collaboration skills to work with cross‑functional teams and external partners.
