Software Engineer II

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer II to enhance and maintain existing Fortra software products while building new solutions. The role offers the chance to work on challenging features, collaborate with a talented team, and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and fun.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement new product features and functionality.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve complex product defects.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and follow development best practices.
• Write technical specifications based on conceptual designs and business requirements.
• Perform testing of features and defect fixes created by peers.
• Collaborate with technical writers to ensure accurate documentation.
• Prioritize tasks, meet project deadlines and support on‑call rotation for emergencies.
• Mentor less‑experienced team members and exercise independent judgment on assignments.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of professional software development experience.
• Strong desire for excellence, initiative, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Team‑oriented mindset and creative problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Go or Python.
• Basic SQL knowledge.
• Familiarity with cloud services.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile/Scrum methodology.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, REST APIs, event processing and Kubernetes (nice to have).
