5th/6th Grade Gifted Teacher

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated 5th/6th Grade Gifted Teacher to join our school community. The successful candidate will deliver district‑approved curriculum to gifted students, fostering an environment where high‑potential learners can thrive.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver instruction using a variety of techniques and media that meet individual student needs.
• Create a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning and appropriate for student maturity.
• Assess academic and social growth, maintain accurate records, and prepare progress reports.
• Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, gymnasiums, and on field trips.
• Distribute, collect, grade, and record tests and homework using paper or electronic methods.
• Support administration in implementing policies, rules, and equity initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong belief in the potential of all children and adults.
• Deep understanding of equity in education.
• Openness to feedback and proven ability to apply it.
• Effective communication with students, parents, and staff.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (email, word processing, spreadsheets).

What we offer

• Starting salary of $41,500 per year.
• 7.58‑hour school day with a 9‑month contract.
• Eligibility for union membership.
