Accountant - Billing and Revenue Cycle

About the role

JoVE, a video platform for scientific research and education, is looking for an Accountant to take ownership of its day-to-day financial operations. You will be the backbone of the billing and revenue cycle, managing accounts receivable, tracking customer revenue, calculating sales commissions and supporting month-end close.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and send customer invoices and follow up on outstanding payments.
• Manage accounts receivable and respond to customer billing inquiries.
• Handle daily bookkeeping, reconciliations and accounting tasks.
• Calculate sales commissions and maintain accurate commission records.
• Track, calculate and reconcile customer revenue.
• Prepare and send customer license agreements and follow up on signatures.
• Maintain accurate financial records, spreadsheets and reports.
• Assist with month-end closing and other accounting activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a similar field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting, invoicing, accounts receivable and bookkeeping.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; able to multitask, stay organised and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS and complex formulas.
• Knowledge of QuickBooks or similar accounting software is a plus.
• Experience with revenue and commission calculations is preferred.
