Accounting Manager (Colombia)

About the role

The Accounting Manager will lead all day‑to‑day accounting activities for the Colombian legal entity, ensuring compliance with Colombian GAAP (NIIF), tax regulations and statutory reporting. The role oversees the monthly and annual close, supports audits, maintains internal controls and acts as the primary liaison with tax authorities, external auditors and global finance partners.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual close processes, including journal entries, accruals and reconciliations.
• Prepare and review balance‑sheet account reconciliations and resolve variances promptly.
• Produce accurate trial balances and statutory financial statements in accordance with NIIF and corporate reporting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with Colombian tax obligations such as VAT, withholding and income tax, and manage local filings.
• Coordinate external audits and regulatory inspections, serving as the main point of contact with tax authorities and auditors.
• Design, implement and monitor internal controls over financial reporting and recommend process improvements.
• Support remediation of audit findings and internal‑control observations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5‑10 years of progressive accounting experience, including statutory accounting and reporting in Colombia.
• Strong knowledge of Colombian GAAP (NIIF), tax regulations and audit requirements.
• Proven experience managing month‑end close, balance‑sheet reconciliations and audits.
• Working proficiency in English.
