Accounting Manager – Remote, Full‑Time

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Accounting Manager to lead financial reporting, month‑end close, payroll, and core accounting operations for multiple client accounts. This remote, full‑time position requires strong accrual‑based accounting expertise and the ability to manage complex, multi‑entity workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Execute month‑end close processes and prepare accurate financial reports.
• Process payroll using Gusto or similar platforms and manage employee onboarding.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and maintain general ledger accuracy across entities.
• Calculate and file U.S. state sales tax, ensuring timely compliance.
• Build custom reports, support budgeting/forecasting, and provide financial analysis.
• Review, document, and improve existing accounting processes.
• Coordinate regularly with leadership and support client‑facing communications.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance.
• Strong knowledge of accrual accounting and GAAP.
• Experience managing multi‑entity, multi‑location businesses.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.

Required skills

• QuickBooks Online (or Desktop/Enterprise).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel (XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Pivot Tables, Data Tables).
• Payroll processing with Gusto or similar system.
• U.S. sales tax filing.
• Familiarity with NetSuite, Paylocity/ADP, Ramp, Bill.com, Clockify (nice‑to‑have).
