AI Solutions Engineer

About the role

O-I Glass, a global manufacturer of glass packaging for food and beverage brands, is hiring an AI Solutions Engineer. The engineer designs, builds, deploys and operates enterprise AI solutions that improve decisions and automate business processes, combining large language models, AI agents, enterprise data, APIs, applications and workflows. The role works with business, data, security and technology teams to move opportunities from concept to production.

Key responsibilities

• Turn business opportunities into production-ready AI solutions with clear use cases, requirements, business cases, success measures and implementation plans.
• Design and build AI agents, agentic workflows, AI-enhanced applications and decision-support solutions, configuring their instructions, reasoning patterns, tools, memory, knowledge retrieval and human-in-the-loop controls.
• Integrate AI solutions with Microsoft Fabric, enterprise data platforms, APIs, applications and documents.
• Develop reusable platform components such as agent templates, prompt patterns, tool libraries, API and MCP connectors, authentication patterns, monitoring and source control frameworks.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, reliable and aligned with enterprise architecture, data governance, cybersecurity, privacy and responsible AI.
• Analyze data and business processes to validate opportunities and recommend alternatives, then monitor quality, adoption and business value.
• Document designs, specifications, tests, controls and training materials, and support change management and user education.
• Manage multiple assignments, estimate effort and provide production support during critical periods.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in AI, data science, computer science, software engineering, information systems, business intelligence or a related field.
• At least three years of experience in AI engineering, software engineering, data engineering, analytics engineering, automation or a closely related discipline.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying generative AI applications, AI agents, RAG or AI-enabled workflows in production.
• Experience with Azure and Microsoft AI technologies such as AI Foundry, Copilot or comparable tools (Claude, OpenAI, Grok).
• Knowledge of enterprise data integration, data lakes, lakehouses, data warehouses, semantic models, dimensional modeling, ontologies, knowledge graphs, data mining and workflow automation.
• Understanding of identity, access control, data privacy, cybersecurity, responsible AI and audit requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with APIs, software development practices, source control, testing and CI/CD.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric or comparable lakehouse and data-platform technologies.
• Understanding of orchestration patterns, tool use, memory, knowledge retrieval, evaluation, guardrails and observability for AI agents.
