Chief Financial Officer – Financial Controller

About the role

We are looking for a meticulous, highly analytical professional to lead our accounting operations and financial reporting. Reporting to the CFO/VP of Finance, you will ensure data integrity, drive month‑end close, and strengthen internal controls while guiding a dedicated accounting team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Lead and streamline month‑end and year‑end close processes, reconciling balance‑sheet accounts and analysing variances.
• Serve as primary contact for external auditors and manage the annual audit.
• Design, implement and maintain robust internal controls, policies and procedures.
• Monitor daily cash flow, liquidity needs and banking relationships.
• Oversee corporate tax compliance and coordinate with external tax advisors.
• Collaborate on budgeting, forecasting and rolling financial forecasts.
• Conduct cost analysis and variance reporting to optimise operational efficiency.
• Provide ad‑hoc financial modelling and analysis for strategic decisions, M&A and capital projects.
• Supervise, mentor and develop the accounting team (AP, AR, Payroll, GL).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related quantitative field.
• CPA or CMA designation strongly preferred.
• 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Deep knowledge of GAAP (or applicable IFRS).
• Exceptional analytical, problem‑solving and detail‑orientation skills.
• Proven leadership ability to develop accounting talent.

Required skills

• Advanced expertise in ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365).
• Advanced Excel capabilities (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, financial modelling).
• Financial modelling and analysis.
