Civil Designer (Remote)

About the role

A remote position for a Civil Engineer/Civil Designer who designs complex civil engineering projects for land development and public works. The role uses CAD programs and design software to produce engineering plans, models and construction documents. An English-speaking candidate with a portfolio is mandatory.

Key responsibilities

• Design and oversee civil engineering projects for land development, public works, site infrastructure and utilities.
• Create detailed plans, models and construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS and other design software.
• Conduct and oversee land surveys and review survey reports, maps and legal land descriptions.
• Prepare grading, drainage, roadway and utility plans in line with local, state and federal regulations.
• Provide technical guidance on design feasibility and cost-effective solutions.
• Perform site grading (earthwork), access roads, stormwater design, hydraulic and hydrology calculations, detention ponds, erosion and sedimentation control, and infrastructure and parking lot design.
• Interpret as-built and redline information and revise plans accordingly.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Land Surveying or a related field.
• Experience with land development, public works, grading and utility design.
• Knowledge of grading plans, drainage plans and calculations, and storm utility plans and calculations (mandatory).
• Knowledge of water and sewer utility plans and calculations; knowledge of drawings is mandatory.
• Understanding of zoning laws, environmental regulations and permitting processes.
• Ability to interpret topographic and boundary surveys.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication and project management skills.
