Commercial Trainee (Filtrino)

About the role

EF Language Abroad is looking for a Commercial Trainee, called internally a "Filtrino", to join its team in Barranquilla, Colombia. The role is the first point of contact for future students: qualifying leads, sparking conversations and connecting people to study-abroad opportunities. It suits someone ready to learn and grow, with no prior work or sales experience required.

Key responsibilities

• Qualify leads and opportunities, ranking and prioritizing them properly
• Conduct pre-qualifying conversations to assess client fit and interest level
• Engage potential students through social channel messaging, keeping communication consistent and professional
• Take part in information meetings to support the team in presenting the programs
• Support marketing campaigns and events, school and university outreach, and database maintenance
• Assist with customer service tasks such as flight bookings and student records

Required profile

• High school degree or equivalent; no prior work or sales experience required
• Intermediate English (B1 or above); additional languages are a plus
• Strong motivation to achieve targets and deliver results
• Passion for helping people and building genuine connections
• Adaptable, resilient and able to work on weekends when needed
• Team player comfortable working with colleagues from diverse backgrounds
