Content Strategist - Senior Editor (YouTube, Shorts & Virality)

About the role

We are seeking a Content Strategist who also excels at editing. The ideal candidate understands audience behavior, retention, virality, and conversion, and can transform long‑form YouTube videos into high‑performing short‑form content.

Key responsibilities

• Edit long‑form YouTube videos to maximise watch time, retention and authority.
• Craft compelling hooks, pacing and narrative flow for each video.
• Contribute to titles, thumbnails and overall content structure.
• Identify viral moments in long‑form assets and create platform‑native Shorts, Reels and TikToks.
• Apply effective hooks, captions and pacing to boost short‑form engagement.
• Leverage AI tools (Riverside.fm, OpusClip, HeyGen, Captions.ai/ Captions.io) to accelerate production.
• Build efficient workflows that maintain quality while increasing publishing speed.
• Analyse retention, engagement and completion metrics and iterate on editing strategy.
• Collaborate with growth and content teams to improve overall performance.

Required profile

• 3–6 years of video editing and content production experience.
• Proven experience with YouTube long‑form and short‑form social content.
• Deep understanding of retention, storytelling, hooks and audience psychology.
• Data‑driven mindset: uses analytics to inform decisions.
• Comfortable integrating AI tools into the editing workflow.

Required skills

• Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.
• After Effects (preferred, not required).
• Familiarity with YouTube Studio analytics and short‑form metrics.
• Experience with Riverside.fm, OpusClip, HeyGen, Captions.ai / Captions.io.
