Controller – Property Management Accounting

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead accounting and financial operations for a growing property management company. The role focuses on month‑end close, bank reconciliations, invoicing, and reporting to provide clear financial visibility for ownership.

Key responsibilities

• Own the monthly close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements.
• Reconcile all bank, credit‑card and operating accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Create and manage invoices in QuickBooks, track accounts receivable and support collections.
• Monitor vendor purchases, especially Home Depot and field‑team spending, and enforce purchasing controls.
• Develop benchmarks and dashboards for handyman and maintenance efficiency, analyzing labor, material costs and profitability.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow planning and internal control improvements.

Required profile

• Strong accounting discipline with experience in property management or real‑estate services.
• Proven ability to build scalable financial systems for a service‑based business.
• Detail‑oriented, audit‑ready mindset and ability to identify and resolve irregularities quickly.
