Country Compliance Officer – Colombia

About the role

Moody's is looking for an experienced Country Compliance Officer for Colombia within its Local Compliance team, which leads and supports the Moody's Local Compliance Program across designated Latin American jurisdictions. The role provides regulatory guidance, manages compliance risks and fosters a strong culture of compliance, working closely with business leaders and employees across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate compliance initiatives across Peru, Colombia, Bolivia and other designated jurisdictions and guide regulatory and compliance matters
• Act as the primary liaison with regulators, respond to regulatory inquiries, prepare internal staff for regulatory examinations and advise on regulatory and compliance issues
• Support the development, implementation and management of anti-money laundering (AML) frameworks and act as the designated AML Compliance Officer as required
• Advise employees on Local policies such as securities trading, gifts, outside business interests, confidentiality, information barriers, recordkeeping and regulatory disclosures
• Conduct compliance risk assessments, identify emerging risks and support Compliance Surveillance and Investigations teams
• Prepare and deliver compliance training materials and present to boards, regulators, business leadership and senior management

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Law, Finance or a related field
• 4-8 years of compliance experience at a financial industry regulator or regulated financial services firm; anti-money laundering experience is a plus
• Anti-Money Laundering certification preferred
• Fluency in English and Spanish

• Strong written and verbal communication and the ability to engage regulators, senior management and cross-functional stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions
• Understanding of financial services regulations, compliance frameworks and risk management principles
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, make independent decisions and adapt to changing regulatory environments
• Personal ethics, integrity and a commitment to a culture of compliance
• Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts and interest in responsible AI practices
