Cyber Security Specialist

About the role

Join Evertec, a leading technology and transaction processing company, as a Cyber Security Specialist. You will monitor security events, investigate incidents, and support compliance initiatives across a multi‑regional environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor security events, alerts, and reports through SIEM platforms to detect malicious activity.
• Assess, investigate, and analyze cybersecurity events and escalations.
• Prepare technical and non‑technical reports and present findings to stakeholders.
• Collaborate on incident investigations, root cause analysis, and evaluate unauthorized applications.
• Coordinate with regional teams for timely response and documentation of security events.
• Support compliance initiatives and internal controls, including SOX‑related controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Two to three years of IT experience with a focus on security monitoring.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Preferred certifications such as CISSP or Security+.

Required skills

• Experience with SIEM tools and incident response processes.
• Knowledge of firewalls, DLP, NAC, IPS, and security monitoring practices.
• Familiarity with Windows, Unix/Linux, databases, and IBM z/OS environments.
