Data & AI Engineering Expert

About the role

Opella is seeking a Data & AI Engineering Expert to design, develop, and maintain its data infrastructure. You will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and cross‑functional teams to ensure data is reliable, accessible, and ready for analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes using Databricks, Apache Iceberg, Unity Catalog, Python, Airflow and dbt.
• Develop and optimise data models and schemas to support reporting and analytical needs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather data requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
• Manage data integration and migration projects across AWS and Azure environments.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and ensure high data quality and availability.
• Stay up‑to‑date with industry trends and best practices in data engineering and cloud technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or a related field.
• Proven experience designing and optimising Databricks platforms with Apache Iceberg and Unity Catalog.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
