Data Scientist

About the role

CRISIL Limited is seeking a diligent Data Scientist to join a small, fast‑moving analytics team. Reporting to the Head of Data Science, you will support senior colleagues in delivering advanced analytics projects that help the business make better decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the end‑to‑end delivery of data‑science initiatives, from problem definition to model deployment.
• Perform exploratory data analysis, build predictive models, and generate actionable insights.
• Translate business questions into analytical approaches and ensure clear understanding of scope.
• Produce clean, well‑structured deliverables such as PowerPoint presentations, Excel workbooks, and Tableau dashboards.
• Communicate progress and findings proactively to stakeholders and senior team members.
• Take ownership of timelines and quality of output, ensuring timely delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline.
• At least 1 year of relevant work experience in data science or analytics.
• Strong written and spoken English proficiency.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working in a small team.
• Ability to learn new tools and techniques as project needs evolve.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• SQL, including window functions.
• Experience querying REST APIs.
• Familiarity with Tableau for visualisation.
