Design Project Coordinator – Commercial Interiors

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Design Project Coordinator to support a U.S. based client that works with leading office‑furniture brands. The role involves translating client requirements into precise space plans, value‑engineered furniture solutions and accurate technical drawings while managing multiple projects remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Account Managers to create high‑quality space plans, typicals and installation drawings using Configura CET Designer and AutoCAD.
• Own design timelines for several concurrent accounts, track deliverables and ensure milestones are met.
• Generate zero‑error bills of materials and value‑engineer furniture selections within strict budget constraints.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison between Account Managers, clients, manufacturers and field installation teams to resolve design discrepancies.
• Maintain detailed project records, including design revisions, change orders, quote modifications and site measurements.
• Ensure all layouts comply with local building codes, ADA, ergonomics and client‑specific electrical and technology standards.
• Continuously learn new manufacturing extensions and propose workflow improvements.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a commercial contract‑furniture dealership or interior‑design firm, preferably handling both design and project coordination.
• Advanced proficiency with Configura CET Designer and AutoCAD; experience with brands such as Kimball, Steelcase, Herman Miller or Haworth is a plus.
• Proven ability to manage project workflows, meet tight deadlines and coordinate technical information across cross‑functional teams.
• Strong understanding of contract‑furniture systems, electrical/data feeds and on‑site installation constraints.
• Familiarity with dealership project‑management tools and quote generation systems (e.g., ProjectMatrix, Hedberg or similar ERP).
• Knowledge of ADA compliance, LEED and WELL building standards.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
