Director, Software Test Engineering

About the role

Visa is hiring a Director, Software Test Engineering to lead its Testing team and partner with the Senior Director on the multi-year transformation roadmap of the Testing Pillar, focused on delivering the Client Product Testing Tools. The role leads a team of Analysts, Consultants and Senior Consultants across a regional or shared-service remit and works closely with the COE team and regional Testing groups.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Testing team, set schedules and priorities, and balance competing initiatives with stakeholders
• Oversee end-to-end go-to-market planning, rapid execution and post-launch optimization of the new enterprise testing platform, aiming to reach market within 12 months
• Integrate AI-driven capabilities, including automation, intelligent analytics and machine learning, into the product and operations
• Run launch readiness activities: positioning, team enablement, documentation, training and stakeholder communication
• Monitor platform performance, gather user feedback and run post-launch optimization
• Build dashboards and reports, track metrics, costs and benefits, and give senior stakeholders data-backed updates
• Gather and present product performance metrics, and build process improvement plans
• Manage product and project management tools (Jira, Confluence, MS Teams, MS Project, Productboard) and recommend testing process improvements
• Drive collaboration between product, engineering, design and support teams, and represent regional Testing teams in cross-functional projects
• Establish a customer feedback loop, turn the voice of the client into strategic initiatives, and partner with business leaders on Center of Excellence programs
• Develop and manage testing and stakeholder training curricula, and coach the client services organization toward process improvement and cost savings

Required profile

• At least 8 years of experience delivering large initiatives with demonstrated business value
• Proven people-leadership experience; the role is an individual contributor at an advanced support staff level
• Minimum 5 years in software testing, including payments, mobile, web-based and client-server applications, using manual and automation techniques
• Strong AI expertise, with proven experience adopting and integrating AI into products and workflows
• Experience developing and deploying client-facing testing tools is an advantage
• 5+ years in product management, project management or product operations
• Degree in computer or process engineering, MIS or a related technology field
• Experience in SaaS or technology-driven companies, familiarity with Agile, Scrum or other iterative methods, and knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma
