Discipleship Instructor (Missionary) – Colombia

About the role

ACTION Colombia seeks a full‑time Discipleship Instructor to serve as a missionary trainer, equipping pastors and lay leaders with practical discipleship tools. The role involves developing and delivering low‑cost training materials, fostering small‑group learning, and building sustainable follow‑up networks across local churches.

Key responsibilities

• Source and adapt affordable discipleship training resources for pastors and Christian workers.
• Organise small‑group sessions for church leaders focused on discipleship principles.
• Collaborate with qualified volunteers from churches and para‑church organisations to support ministry objectives.
• Prepare and teach the approved discipleship curriculum, including hands‑on training activities.
• Design and manage a follow‑up programme with alumni leaders who have completed the training.
• Promote the programme to evangelical funding bodies and corporate partners, providing regular progress reports.
• Oversee quarterly budgeting and accounting, submitting reports to ACTION’s Colombia Business office.
• Maintain relationships with organisations that provide relevant teaching or training materials.
• Prepare an annual proposal and budget for review by the Executive Committee.

Required profile

• Strong grounding in Old and New Testament studies and personal evangelism.
• Theological or biblical counseling training at a graduate level (preferred).
• Ability to connect with Colombian culture and conduct in‑depth conversations in Spanish.
• Minimum three‑year commitment (four‑year preferred), age 18 or older.
• Active, growing Christian life, recommended by a pastor.
• Adaptable, teachable, good sense of humor, and spiritually mature.
