Field Service Engineer – Colombia

About the role

We are looking for a Field Service Engineer to lead the maintenance and operation of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) sites in Colombia. The role combines technical oversight, safety management and coordination with owners, service providers and local authorities to ensure reliable and safe power storage operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and manage BESS facilities, ensuring site order and implementation of safety technical measures.
• Organise technical personnel for preventive and corrective maintenance of AC and DC equipment.
• Conduct safety risk assessments, enforce EHS requirements and oversee safe operation of the energy storage system.
• Analyse faults, develop optimisation and rectification schemes, and monitor equipment performance data.
• Participate in creating and exercising emergency response and drill plans for the energy storage project.
• Investigate EHS incidents, develop improvement action plans and ensure their implementation.
• Manage maintenance, operation, logistics and business aspects to meet annual performance targets without major accidents.
• Liaise with owners, O&M service providers, local grids, government agencies and other stakeholders to maintain strong cooperation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Power Systems, Electrical Automation, Power Engineering or High‑Voltage Technology.
• Minimum 3 years experience in commissioning, operation and maintenance of energy‑storage power stations.
• Strong safety awareness and familiarity with overseas EHS requirements.
• Relevant industry‑specific operation qualification certificates.
• Fluent English (work language) and ability to obtain a local work permit.
• Overseas work experience and project‑management experience are a plus.
