GBS Retail Specialist – Finance & Reconciliation

About the role

The GBS Retail Specialist supports adidas' Direct‑to‑Consumer (DTC) retail channel by ensuring accurate financial reconciliation of sales and payments. Working at the intersection of commercial operations, finance systems, and compliance, the role guarantees that every retail transaction is captured, validated, and reflected correctly in core systems.

Key responsibilities

• Handle, monitor, and post bank statements.
• Reconcile General Ledger and Accounts Receivable, investigate and follow up on differences.
• Monitor and resolve discrepancies between system interfaces.
• Support all accounting activities for DTC areas, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
• Perform period‑end closing tasks such as accruals, provisions, and balance‑sheet reclassifications.
• Execute inventory accounting and post necessary adjustments.
• Conduct balance‑sheet reconciliations, review accounts, and provide variance explanations.
• Collaborate closely with local finance teams across adidas subsidiaries in Europe and the Americas, as well as Customer Service teams, handling daily queries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, economics, finance or a related field.
• 2‑4 years of experience in similar finance or accounting functions.
• Strong theoretical understanding of accounting principles.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• Excellent attention to detail.
