Global Senior Accountant - Controllership (Remote)

About the role

This Global Senior Accountant position sits within the Tools & Outdoor global team and works across the business and corporate finance pillars. It is a teleworking role open only to candidates based in Colombia. The account will partner with the business and Corporate Accounting on accounting matters, oversee global accounting for Fixed Assets and Global Supply Chain Processes, and lead controllership teams on behalf of the Business Unit Controller and Assistant Business Unit Controller.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to controllership teams in Global T&O for assigned areas, and guide functional groups on fixed asset policies and procedures.
• Train controllers, engineering and sourcing analysts and finance staff on fixed asset best practices.
• Enforce SBD and T&O policies on fixed asset additions, dispositions and transfers, and ensure GAAP compliance for fixed assets and capitalised computer software.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of Fixed Asset Requisitions, prepare and submit CIP aging analytics and presentations for the monthly Fixed Asset report.
• Coordinate scheduling of Fixed Asset physical inventories, compile results and report them monthly, and run periodic cycle counts for T&O HQ entities.
• Analyse CIP balances, reduce average CIP aging, monitor idle asset memos and CIP reconciliation forms, and work to get aged CIP capitalised.

Required profile

• BS degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP; CPA is a plus.
• English proficiency (C1-C2 preferred if not a native speaker).
• At least 3-5 years of experience in auditing, accounting, controllership or other financial roles.
• Experience in a U.S. multinational public company and working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of MS Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP and SUMIF.
• Plus: data analytics software such as SAP, Hyperion HFM or Alteryx.
