Group Financial Reporting Manager

About the role

The Group Financial Reporting Manager will lead technical accounting matters across the Millicom Group, ensuring consistent application of IFRS and US GAAP. This senior position is responsible for complex and non‑routine transactions, policy interpretation, and the implementation of new accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary IFRS and US GAAP expert for the Group, handling revenue recognition, lease accounting, acquisitions, spin‑offs, joint operations, earn‑outs, call‑options and segment reporting.
• Develop and issue position papers on IFRS/US GAAP interpretations and reporting implications for significant transactions.
• Prepare IFRS accounting entries and templates for complex deals, including lease modifications, sales model changes, and initial lease valuations on acquisitions.
• Lead the transition of Group consolidated financial statements from IFRS to US GAAP.
• Own the lease (Nakisa) and revenue (Tidemark) accounting tools, designing configurations to meet reporting needs.
• Manage annual IBR updates and lead migrations of lease and revenue systems for newly acquired operations.
• Oversee the implementation of new IFRS standards, policies, and related acquisition accounting.

Required profile

• Extensive knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP, including IFRS 16 and IFRS 15.
• Proven experience with complex financial transactions such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret accounting standards, develop policy guidance, and ensure group‑wide consistency.
• Experience leading system migrations and configuring accounting tools (e.g., Nakisa, Tidemark).
• Strong analytical skills and the capacity to produce high‑quality accounting documentation.
