Hotel Industry Accountant – Financial Reporting

About the role

Howard Financial is seeking a detail‑oriented Accountant to support financial reporting, account reconciliations, and month‑end close activities for our hospitality clients. You will ensure timely, accurate delivery of financial information while working across multiple hotel properties.

Key responsibilities

• Execute daily accounting tasks, prepare journal entries, and support month‑end close to meet client deadlines.
• Maintain balance‑sheet integrity by cleaning up and resolving reconciling items.
• Master specialized hospitality platforms, ERP tools, and reporting structures for assigned accounts.
• Deliver consistent, accurate, and responsive client service in line with standardized processes.

Required profile

• 1–3+ years of professional accounting experience; hospitality or outsourced accounting background preferred.
• Strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles, journal entries, reconciliations, and month‑end close cycles.
• Highly organized, detail‑focused, and able to work independently while collaborating with teams and clients.

Required skills

• Familiarity with hotel operations and revenue cycles.
• Experience or ability to quickly learn hospitality systems such as Opera and POS platforms.
• Proficiency with Ottimate, Acumatica, and ProfitSword.
