Human Resources Officer (UN Verification Mission)

About the role

The Human Resources Officer will work in the HR Unit of the United Nations Verification Mission in Colombia (UNVMC) based in Bogota. Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, the incumbent will support a broad range of HR functions, from recruitment and staff selection to the administration of entitlements and benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor vacant posts, ensure compliance with UN recruitment policies, and develop recruitment strategies.
• Prepare job openings, screen candidates, conduct interviews, and submit recruitment cases for approval.
• Participate in task forces and working groups to shape recruitment policies and procedures.
• Coordinate language examinations and other selection tests for professional and general service staff.
• Advise on entitlements, remuneration for consultants, and interpretation of UN HR policies.
• Represent the office in joint bodies on salaries and conditions of service when required.

Required profile

• Experience in UN or international organization HR processes, including recruitment, selection, and staff entitlements.
• Strong knowledge of UN staff rules, regulations, and internal HR procedures.
• Ability to work collaboratively with hiring managers and client offices.
