International Operations Agent I

About the role

As an International Operations Agent at AIT, you will coordinate the daily import and export of freight forwarding shipments across all modes of international transportation. You will act as a key liaison between customers, carriers, and customs authorities to ensure smooth, compliant, and timely movement of goods.

Key responsibilities

• Qualify customer shipping requirements, gather necessary regulations, certificates, and documentation for accurate quotations.
• Set shipping schedules, communicate with customers, carriers, and ports, and verify loading, departures, and arrivals.
• Coordinate day‑to‑day import/export activities, review orders and documents, and track shipment status.
• Identify and resolve delays, damages, or other issues, keeping customers informed.
• Handle all aspects of air and ocean operations, including data entry, billing, and KPI compliance.
• Manage tracking systems, update shipment status promptly, and coordinate recovery or delivery with cartage agents and international partners.
• Collaborate with local sales teams to communicate problems and ensure SOP adherence.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience in export/import operations.
• At least 5 years experience as a freight forwarder handling international shipments.
• Strong knowledge of IATA/NVOCC, FAA, TSA, export regulations, AES, and CBP procedures.
• Intermediate familiarity with ITAR, DG, or related TSA regulations.
• Proficient computer skills and English language level B2‑C1.
