Junior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Junior Accountant to manage core accounting functions for a fast‑growing consumer‑products business. The role requires solid US GAAP knowledge, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process accounts payable: match invoices, post, communicate with vendors, prepare payments, and resolve discrepancies.
• Handle accounts receivable: manage credit control, collections, and reconcile customer remittances.
• Reconcile Amazon remittances, investigate deductions, and recover funds.
• Perform reconciliations for employee expenses, bank accounts, credit cards, and key balance‑sheet items.
• Maintain a clean general ledger with supporting schedules.
• Support month‑end and year‑end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, checklists, and variance analysis.
• Assist audit and tax teams by preparing documentation and responding to requests.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve financial queries related to customers, vendors, and expenses.

Required profile

• Formal training or qualifications in US GAAP.
• 3+ years of accounting experience in industry or public accounting.
• Strong Excel proficiency and experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
• Experience in a consumer packaged goods (CPG) environment and familiarity with manufacturing/factory settings.
• Hands‑on experience managing Amazon accounts, including remittance reconciliation and deduction recovery.
• Excellent English communication skills for collaboration with US‑based teams.
• Ability to work independently in a small, fast‑paced remote team.

• Competitive salary: 80,000,000 – 90,000,000 COP per year.
