Junior Trader

About the role

The Junior Trader will join Acron Group’s international trade team, supporting the distribution of mineral fertilizers across Mexico, Central America, Ecuador and Peru. Based in Barranquilla, you will work on‑site with a focus on client relationships, market intelligence and logistics optimisation.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and develop relationships with existing and new clients in the assigned regions.
• Coordinate the development and promotion of the current product portfolio.
• Execute the regional business plan and achieve sales targets.
• Develop credit lines for clients in line with headquarters and credit‑insurance standards.
• Ensure high‑quality customer service by handling documentation, certification and quantity requirements.
• Support participation in international industry conferences.
• Liaise with Operations and Chartering teams to align commercial and maritime terms.
• Gather market intelligence to improve positioning and offers.
• Optimize freight logistics, including containers, reefers and part‑load solutions for lower‑volume customers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in logistics, supply chain, shipping, international trade or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in trade execution, shipping operations, freight forwarding or supply‑chain coordination.
• Strong understanding of Incoterms, international trade practices and maritime logistics.
• Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Effective communicator comfortable working across cultures.
• Proactive, disciplined, resilient with a problem‑solving mindset.
• Customer‑focused with a commitment to long‑term relationships.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.
• Knowledge of laytime calculations and shipping terminology is an advantage.
