Legal Counsel – Latin America (Bogotá)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Legal Counsel to join our team in Bogotá, Colombia. The role provides comprehensive legal support for the Latin American region, acting as a trusted business partner in daily operations, commercial contracts, compliance, and cross‑border risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate complex commercial contracts, including service, distribution, channel partnerships and NDAs across LATAM.
• Monitor and interpret data‑protection regulations (e.g., Ley 1581 de 2012) and adapt privacy policies and terms of service.
• Manage trademark registration, enforcement and IP disputes throughout LATAM jurisdictions.
• Handle commercial and labor disputes, overseeing local external law firms.
• Provide daily legal advice to business units, assess new business models and support HR on employment matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law with Colombian bar admission (Abogado inscrito en la Corte Suprema de Justicia de Colombia).
• Minimum 5 years of law firm or in‑house experience, at least 2 years in the tech/internet sector.
• Native Spanish speaker with fluent English (written and spoken, CEFR B2+).
• Strong expertise in Colombian contract law, data protection (Ley 1581), intellectual property and labor law, with solid understanding of the LATAM business environment.
• Preferred experience in cloud computing, SaaS or digital content services and familiarity with GDPR interactions.
